Have you ever thought about becoming an author?  Maybe you’ve daydreamed about what you would write about, or maybe you’ve already written or started to write a book or several books.  But did you know that your library now offers a free self-publishing toolbox, with tools that will take you from your very first word to showcasing your finished, published work for others to read, and everything in between?  Visit to learn more and to access the toolbox!

Hey kids!  We have a new, fun scavenger hunt at the library!  8 Dust Bunnies have invaded the library and are hiding.  The mission is to find all 8 bunnies, check the bottom of their feet for a mystery question, and then answer all 8 questions.  Complete the mission for a prize!

Part of a library’s job is to promote and support literacy.  Because children so often do their best learning while they’re having fun (and don’t realize that they’re learning,) we have added several new word puzzles and games to the children’s area.  The categories are: Things that Go, Word Match Game, Word Puzzle Game, and Onset-Rime.  Participating in fun activities like this with your child can make a huge impact on their reading and learning abilities throughout their life.

The Friends of the Black Creek Village Library’s Annual Book and Bake Sale will be held Friday, October 19, and Saturday, October 20th in the community room across from the library.  Thanks to all of the donations from our wonderful patrons, this will be one for the record books with thousands of books, movies, and CDs to choose from.  You won’t want to miss it!

The next meeting of the Black Creek Library Page Turners will be October 31st at 1 pm.  Copies of Nightbird by Alice Hoffman are available at the circulation desk.  To join the online discussion, go to:
